NZTC Keynote Speaker at the 2018 International Agriculture Development Symposium

The 2018 Brand Agriculture Development International Symposium was held in Chengdu on the 20th September 2018 and NZTC President, Adam Martin was among one of the conferences key note speakers.

 

The Symposium played host to more 300 representatives. Those in attendance included high ranking members of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
Established 3-years ago, the World Union of Agricultural Associations (WUAA) was the official host of the Symposium, with founding members from China, New Zealand, Russia, Poland, Japan, Spain and Malaysia all represented. The WUAA’s aim is for member countries to share resources, technology and idea’s that enhance and foster Agriculture Development for all member countries, as well as providing a discussion platform that addresses Agriculture brand development and cooperation.

NZ Government Department is seeking feedback on locally sold Manuka honey

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking feedback on options for Manuka honey sold in New Zealand. Since February 2018, all exported Manuka honey must meet the Manuka honey science definition, to test that it is authentic. (More info about the Manuka honey science definition)

MPI is now considering whether to apply the same science definition to New Zealand Manuka honey sold on the domestic market. It is important to understand the possible benefits, costs and impacts, and to think about how this might work in practice.

During the consultation, public meetings will be held throughout the country by MPI to provide information and answer any questions on the proposal.

New Zealand’s fresh milk entered pre-schools in China

Since 2015, NZTC has successfully supplied and exported New Zealand KOHA FRESH MILK to China.  Our buyer has achieved something no other Fresh Milk Brand has achieved in China, by successfully negotiating the distribution of KOHA full cream Fresh Milk into pre-schools in China, becoming the authorized imported milk brand to enter this important channel.

New Zealand is fortunate to have natural beauty with pure green pastures that feeds the more than 4.5 million cows.  While NZ is not the largest producer of Dairy Products, because of our population, we are the largest dairy exporter in the world, accounting for nearly a 1/3rd of the world’s dairy trade globally.

With a population of less than 5-million people, NZ produces 19 million tons of milk, of which, more than 95% is sold abroad.  It’s in our NZ’s DNA to export dairy products, with …

Vietnam’s Prime Minister, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc met with leaders of New Zealand Trade Center

Vietnam’s Prime Minister, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, was accompanied by his wife, Senior Ministers and Commercial Business leaders visited New Zealand from March 12th to 14th, at the invitation of Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand.

On the morning of March 13th, Prime Minister Phúc delivered the main speech at the Vietnam-New Zealand Business Forum in Auckland. Prime Minister Phúc eloquently detailed the increasing growth in Vietnam and their desire to trade and co-operate with New Zealand business for Investment, Services and Products. SCULLYS supports Chinese New Year Charity Gala

On March 6th, 2018, the third Chinese New Year Charity Gala was successfully hosted at Sky City Convention Centre in Auckland, under the theme of ‘innovation –future’. Those who attended the banquet could bid at auction for a variety of exquisite set gift boxes, donate kindly by SCULLYS, who have more than 20 years of history in the New Skin care sector. The SCULLYS beautiful gift boxes grew great attraction and the bidding was fiercely competitive. SCULLYS generous donations successfully contributed to the St Johns’ ambulance donation program and it also drew the attention of the Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand, who also bid on the SCULLYS skin care gift box for his wife.

Fertile Fields in Vietnam

In November 2016, at the invitation of one of Vietnam’s leading Supermarket Chains, New Zealand Trade Centre attended the 2016 Vietnam Food & Technology Expo which took place in Ho Chi Minh City from the 16th– 19th of November.

Vietnam represents a market of over 96 million.  The middle class, like China, is increasingly becoming more discerning and wealthy.

The Food Expo was particularly profitable for NZTC and for Ruth of Bio Balance, one of the suppliers who joined us on this journey.  Showcasing the best of NZ products and opportunities, NZTC carefully selected  New Zealand’s best suppliers of food, beverages, health supplements and skincare products that we believed would work in the Vietnamese market.

On 11th Oct, ANZBC,Vietnam Trade Office, Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives and local NZ businesses attended the breakfast meeting held in New Zealand Trade Centre.

 

 

ANZBC(ASEAN New Zealand Business Council) helps to promote the businesses of its members and develop new opportunities. Together with ANZBC and Vietnam Trade Office, NZTC organized the breakfast meeting to help Vietnam enterprises and NZ local businesses build business cooperation.

 

Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives owns and operates a chain of supermarkets in Vietnam.
