SCULLYS first begun in 1992, becoming a household name over the past 25-years of serving New Zealand households. Established by Judy and Gerry Scully, the couple was inspired by Lavender fields overseas and wanted to do the same in New Zealand. Fields of blue soon became the landscape on their rural property, located only 5-km from Bulls, in the North Island of New Zealand. SCULLYS like the lavender flourished into a blooming business. With careful hands the lavender was harvested and the oil extracted to be used in SCULLYS unique range of Bath, Body and Home products.
Gerry and Judy Scully wanted to create products that would naturally nourish, moisturise and enhance people’s bodies and homes. The old wool shed out back was converted to become a place of hospitality. Devonshire teas, jam scones and cream, lavender meringues and many other treats are served amongst the fresh aroma of Lavender. A gift shop was established at the farm, to sell their hand-made and hand-crafted beautiful creams, lotions, bath salts, oils, waxes and candles.
Today, SCULLYS still have a hands-on approach. However, it is sold in a lot more places than Bulls. The SCULLY’s range of products are sold to stockists throughout New Zealand, including health shops, pharmacies, gift shops and the like. They also export globally, to Japan, England, America, Hong Kong and Australia. The range of products has grown over the years, as satisfied buyers asked for new products, to look after the next generation.
Gerry and Judy Scully wanted to incorporate their principles into their products, ensuring they worked with integrity, as well as taking responsibility of the natural environment. SCULLY’s chooses to use recyclable packaging and none of their products are tested on animals. Sourcing many of their ingredients locally in New Zealand, they are dedicated to making simple, natural, beautiful Bath, Body and Home products, which contain the finest essential oils and bio-active ingredients.
From its rudimentary beginning some 25-years ago, SCULLY’s has grown to become one of the most well respected and brand leaders in New Zealand for the Bath, Body and Home product sector. A family business that employs staff from the local rural community.
