This week the New Zealand Trade Centre was very happy to co-host a seminar on beginning business in China hosted by Russell Brown, managing partner of China based accounting firm Lehman Brown. The event was put together by Gilligan Sheppard, one of Lehman Brown’s partner firms here in New Zealand. Attending was an eclectic mix of different individuals who all have one thing in common; China, and the massive potential this market represents.
On the 21st of March NZTC hosted a visiting delegation from Henan. This was a province wide delegation made up of 14 delegates representing all of Henan’s major cities. Henan has a large agricultural base and discussions were begun on how to share New Zealand farming technologies. The visiting delegates were also very interested in education opportunities in New Zealand for Chinese students.
NZTC’s Yoghup™ yoghurt making system is taking China by storm; hot on the heels of our fourth container to China comes the announcement that Yoghup™ will be going into 18 supermarkets across the Shandong province as of March 2013. Congratulations to Yoghup™!

New Zealand Trade Centre is currently running an on-air radio competition over the next 4 weeks. We are asking our 99.4FM listeners to provide their best Ling Recipes using any part of the fish, such as the head, skin, ling maw or the fillets themselves.
The best recipe each week, will receive a 5kg box of Grade 5 NZ Scampi. The overall winner, will win a further 10kg of Frozen Whole Ling.
Executive director Wendy Mo stated, ”we are hoping to find recipes that will turn the NZ Ling Deepsea Fish into another iconic dish like the 3-course “Peking Duck” legend”.
