New Zealand Trade Centre is currently running an on-air radio competition over the next 4 weeks. We are asking our 99.4FM listeners to provide their best Ling Recipes using any part of the fish, such as the head, skin, ling maw or the fillets themselves.
The best recipe each week, will receive a 5kg box of Grade 5 NZ Scampi. The overall winner, will win a further 10kg of Frozen Whole Ling.
Executive director Wendy Mo stated, ”we are hoping to find recipes that will turn the NZ Ling Deepsea Fish into another iconic dish like the 3-course “Peking Duck” legend”.
Ling is a deepsea fish that lives at depths of 400m. With Hoki and Scampi as their main food sources, this fish has some of the most succulent white fillets around. The New Zealand Trade Centre is trying to innovate and stimulate some discussion on how best to use this precious gift of the sea in Asian cooking.
